Terror attack: NIA raids on PFI bases in 10 states, more than 100 arrested

New Delhi: Launching a scathing attack on terrorists, NIA and ED today raided the bases of Popular Front of India (PFI) in ten states of the country. According to the information received, 100 more people have been arrested during the raid. The house of OMA Salam, the head of the Kerala-based organization, has also been raided. Which has been strongly opposed by PLFI workers. The states where NIA and ED have conducted raids include 10 states including UP, Kerala, Telangana, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh.

It is being told that the houses of national, state and local level leaders of PFI are being raided. Raids are also being conducted at the state committee office. This organization has been accused of terror funding, training of terrorist activities, spreading unrest in the country. PFI has said in a statement that we strongly oppose the steps taken by the fascist regime to use agencies to suppress the voice of dissent. It is to be known that even before this, the NIA team had raided 40 locations in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh on September 18 as well. During this, four people were taken into custody and interrogated.

PFI was formed on 17 February 2007. This organization was created by merging three Muslim organizations in South India. These included National Democratic Front of Kerala, Karnataka Forum for Dignity and Manitha Neeti Pasarai of Tamil Nadu. At present, this organization is active in 23 states of the country. It is believed that after the ban on SIMI in the country, there was a rapid expansion of PFI. The organization is considered very strong in South India.
